Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.
I wanted to provide a little information about who I am and what inspired me to do this research. Most of this information was obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records. In the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought possible! I first began researching because of an employer of mine. She had been working on her genealogy for many, many years and I would help her. When she first sent me to the library in Tampa to research her family - I was hooked. I began spending my spare time at the library looking through books, scanning microfilm and asking tons of questions to the ladies that worked there. I began to put a book together and five years later here's my first website. It may seem that after five years I should have much more information, but trust me, I've made lots of progress. Hopefully, if you visit this site often, you'll see all the progress. Thanks for visiting!
This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.

Acknowledgments
This site is dedicated to my grandmother, Nancy Mendina. Without her none of this would be possible. Thank you for sharing your life with me. I love you.

My great-grandmother, Margaret (Maggie) Tousa and me. I'm not sure how old I was here, but I have memories of her giving me very tight ponytails and very, big ribbons. Isn't she sweet?
